Meet the booksellers

Cherry Street Books is an independent, women-run bookstore. These are the people who will help you find the next book.

I love reading because it takes you to another time and another place without having to leave your home. I love to travel and if I could I would go somewhere new every month. So reading helps me do this!

I purchased Cherry Street Books from a great friend in 2022. While I am not at the store when most of you are shopping, I do love my time behind the scenes. I also own Ella’s Salon and that is my full time job. I love being able to have two jobs doing what I love!

I have been a bookseller at Cherry Street Books since October 2016. I have a BA in Social Work but prefer bookselling! I am a mood reader and am often reading several books at once. I gravitate towards science fiction and literary fiction, but I also enjoy romance, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, and memoirs.

I obviously love reading, but I also spend a lot of time walking, knitting, and hanging out with my husband and kids. My favorite part of working at Cherry Street Books is discussing books and helping customers pick out books!

I’ve worked at Cherry Street for a few years, but in a previous life I was a nurse. My highlights at this bookstore have been Story Hour with preschoolers, various book clubs, game nights, open mic nights, author events, Banned Book Night, and other fun events.

I enjoy all genres of reading: I try to read current best sellers to keep up with what everyone is reading but I often find myself reading historical fiction, sci-fi fantasy, and mystery/thrillers. I specifically love reading books by or about strong, intelligent women from all walks of life and background. I’m so proud to work at this independent, women-run bookstore.

Brianna

My name is Brianna and I've been a bookseller since 2024. I like to read a little bit of everything, but the genre I gravitate to the most would be fantasy. Some of my favorite books to reread are The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.

There are a lot of great things about working at Cherry Street Books, but I think my favorite is when I get to connect with customers who love the same books that I love!

I started working at Cherry Street Books the summer of 2023 as one of the staff for story hour. I am a retired school speech and language pathologist, so my love for books and literature and seeing how children respond to the stories is amazing.

Besides reading children’s books, I also like to read historical fiction, mystery/thrillers, and some romance. I hosted the Ollie Birch book club and that has been an amazing experience.

Kelli

Hello, my name is Kelli. I recently joined the Cherry Street team as one of the hosts for Story Hour. I’ve been a special education teacher for more than 20 years, and one of my greatest joys is helping children discover a love of reading.

There’s nothing better than seeing kids get excited about books and finding stories that spark their imagination. My favorite genre is historical fiction, but I also enjoy contemporary romance and romantic comedies.
